17 - Original Kipper          17 - Acceptance

Original Title = Get a gift.  (Geschenk bekommen.)

Imagery = Young children in a line are each respectfully bestowing a sincere gift [worthiness].

This card represents an acknowledging feeling of acceptance.
This card is the opposite of card 31; and exudes a Positive tone.

This card describes RESPECT, and can be judged as a lesser form of card 25.

This card is an acknowledgement of the granting of a worthiness opinion pertaining to truthfulness and/or identity. Either a test has been passed, or a bye has been given. In a Spread it is usually associated with the bestower to the Querant. Alternatively is could be advice for you to (at least for the time being) accept whatever it is as being probably true.

Nowadays presents are typically only handed out as an expected component of an event. However historically should you have merited sufficient confidence, you would have been bestowed a small gift as a sign. The new label of Acceptance is thus a better title for contemporary understanding, as it makes reference to the overarching concept of credence.

|| In the past this card was often titled "Bestowed a Present", and indicated meriting acceptance. Alternatively it could also have indicated minor recognition. ||
