About the Gipsy Card system

Example Decks:

Over its history the number of cards in the Gipsy deck has expanded twice; from 32-card Biedermeier to 36-card Zigeuner to 52-card Art Deco.

Art Deco-system Decks

Good News - Art Deco Fortune Telling Cards  Art Deco Fortune Telling Cards
Why: This deck expansion was made to address the new twentieth century social changes. Thirties era poster-style artwork is uncommon, but tastefully refreshing.

Biedermeier-system Decks

Fidelity - Little Czech Oracle  Little Czech Oracle
Why: A modern rendition of the early Gipsy deck, using simple illustrations. Regrettably the translator chose imprecise synonyms for several English keywords.

Zigeuner-system Decks

Fidelity - Gipsy Cards  Gipsy Cards
Why: Relaxed artwork variant of the de facto standard turn of the last century style imagery. Vibrant inks, but poor card stock that absorbs humidity.

Fortune - Gipsy Fortune Telling Cards  Gipsy Fortune Telling Cards
Why: The standard reference Gipsy deck. Keywords are in multiple languages, and the imagery is of the style of the start of the last century.

Jealousy - Retro Gypsy Cards  Retro Gypsy Cards
Why: Buoyant manipulated photographic imagery, with retro-styled early 1950s Australian theming. Strangely, these cards have been numbered.
