08 - DeceptionOriginal Title = False Person. (Falsche Person.)
Imagery = A mysterious woman whose dress is completely concealed under an overwrap [obscuration], has just entered a room and is surreptitiously evaluating the atmosphere.
This card serves as a warning that some sort of misleading falsehood was/will/is intentionally occuring.
This card is correspondent to card 21; and exudes a Negative tone.
This card might be judged as a lesser form of card 21. The card cautions of a deliberate act of spoofery (which may incidentally also include concealment). While this card could stand alone as a general warning of a deception (it applies equally towards a situation as a person), it typically appears as a flag against the card it is interacting with in a Spread. While this card is not implying that the card it is associating with in the Spread should have its meaning totally flipped (card 26 for example does not suddenly become card 32), the associated card should nonetheless no longer be viewed entirely at its good/bad face value, or perhaps it should have its minor attributes looked upon in a stronger manner (especially when there is a "catch", such as Loan vs Gift).
Alternatively, sometimes this card can indicate advice to you to reevaluate your actions or assumptions (others are believing YOU to be perpetuating a falsehood, even if deception/lying was not your conscious intention).
